Will There Be Enough Room
Will There Be Enough Room?
I was asked once: “How will we all live on the Earth at the Resurrection? How can there be enough room for all who have died to live here again.” Well it is simple; we have to quit looking at things from our view and start looking at them from God’s view.
A New Heaven and a New Earth
Rev. 21:1,3 Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.
My wife Gina, our daughter Sarah and I took a trip to a wedding in northeast Colorado, then we crossed a small part of southeast Wyoming on our way home. I must say I haven’t seen so much empty space in my life. Miles and miles of road through places that humans have seem to forgotten. Oh sure it is pretty barren but it was also beautiful And the best part is: God has a plan for it.
We sometimes forget that in the beginning, God put Adam and Eve in a garden. It was a place that is beyond our understanding, it was “Perfect”. But with the free will of the human nature and the help of Satan, sin was allowed to enter that place. We now live in the aftermath of the fall. God’s perfect earth is at constant battle with the forces of sin, it changed that garden into a place of survival.
Gen 3:17 17 To Adam he said, “Because you listened to your wife and ate fruit from the tree about which I commanded you, ‘You must not eat from it,’ “Cursed is the ground because of you; through painful toil you will eat food from it all the days of your life.
That “Perfect” garden was put on hold until a future time. Now our Bible is very clear about what God will do when He is ready to come back. He will make His earth new again. No longer will the ground be cursed, no longer will it be forgotten. It will be covered by His blessing and we will live in harmony with Him. He will bring back what He had planned in the beginning: a garden of Eden. Even in those places that seem so barren and un-livable now. What a glorious thought.
Glory be to God for seeing things we can’t imagine. Glory be to God for His plans. Glory be to God for assuring us there will be room for us in eternity.
